HONG KONG, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale jolted 183 km east-southeast of Tadine, New Caledonia at 06:43:08 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 22.007 degrees south latitude and 169.586 degrees east longitude.
