TOKYO, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost further ground Monday morning as investor sentiment was dented by a firm yen hurting exporter linked issues.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 487.45 points, or 2.25 percent, from Friday to 21,191.23.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 32.58 points, or 2.01 percent, at 1,587.87.
Air transportation, service, and electric appliance issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
