KIEV, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The officers of Ukraine's National Guard and National Police, as well as border guards and emergency service workers on Monday kicked off major joint exercises outside of the city, the country's Interior Ministry said.
The four-day practices would involve a total of 1,165 personnel and 102 units of equipment, the ministry said in a statement.
The main task of the exercises is to exchange experiences and work out joint actions in the event of emergencies, such as natural and manmade disasters, border and road blockades or bomb threats, it said.
The drills are aimed at maintaining the internal order and protecting Ukraine's territory and people, it said.
