Lockheed Martin appoints Kenneth Possenriede as new CFO

WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S. top-tier security and aerospace company Lockheed Martin announced on Monday that Kenneth R. Possenriede would be its new executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO).

Kenneth R. Possenriede, 58, is currently vice president of Finance and Program Management at the company's aeronautics unit, according to Lockheed Martin, a Maryland-based high-tech manufacturer.

Prior to his current role, Possenriede was vice president and treasurer for Lockheed Martin between 2011 and 2016, the company said.

The company also noted that its current CFO Bruce L. Tanner intended to retire in mid-2019, while Possenriede's appointment would be effective on Feb. 11, 2019.

"Ken is an accomplished leader with experience in every business area and Lockheed Martin UK," said Marillyn Hewson, chairman, president and CEO of Lockheed Martin.

"During his more than 30-year career at Lockheed Martin, he has developed an impressive track record of delivering outstanding results for our customers, company and shareholders," Hewson added.

Possenriede holds a master degree from University of Michigan and bachelor's degree from Rutgers University in economics, according to Lockheed Martin.
