KIEV, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- A Su-27 fighter jet crashed in northwestern Ukraine on Saturday, killing a pilot, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said on Facebook.
The plane, which was carrying out a routine flight, crashed at about 3:00 p.m. local time (1300 GMT) while landing in Zhytomyr region, it said.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
On Oct. 16, two pilots were killed when a Su-27 crashed in Ukraine's central Vinnytsya region during international exercises "Clear Sky-2018."
