GENEVA, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- One woman was killed and 44 others injured early Sunday when their long-distance bus crashed into a wall near Zurich, dpa news agency reported, quoting the police.
The bus was en route from the Italian city of Genoa to Dusseldorf in Germany when it swerved and hit a wall on an icy motorway near Zurich, police said.
Three people were severely injured, and at least one of them is in critical condition, according to the police.
"At the time of the accident, the motorway was covered with snow and ice, and it was snowing," said a police spokesperson, adding that investigators have yet to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The bus was operated by a subcontractor of a German company and had an Italian license plate.
