SINGAPORE, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 1.21 percent or 37.16 points to close at 3,114.25.
A total of 985.3 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 810.6 million Singaporean dollars (about 589.63 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 207 to 174.
The STI index went down 1.09 percent or 33.99 points to close at 3077.09 last Friday.
