LJUBLJANA, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The remains of a U.S. citizen who went missing in July was found in the area of Iski Vintgar near Ljubljana last Sunday, local media reported on Saturday.

Jonathan Reid Luskin, 25, was reported missing to Slovenian police by his relatives on July 25, said the Slovenian Press Agency STA in its report, citing the Ljubljana Police.

He was last seen at the Viennatrain station in Austria three days earlier when boarding a Ljubljana-bound train while travelling around Europe, according to the STA report.

The Ljubljana Police Department said on Saturday that no foul play could be noticed at the site where his body was found.

The identity of the deceased was confirmed on the basis of a DNA test carried out by the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the Ljubljana Faculty of Medicine.

Iski Vintgar, a gorge of the Iski river just outside Ljubljana, is a popular spot for hikers and climbers.
