LONDON, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- More than 100,000 spectators are expected to descend on central London to watch New Year's Eve fireworks display Monday night, according to local media reports.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said the firework display will celebrate London's relationship with Europe as part of his #LondonIsOpen campaign.

Barriers have been put in place lining the streets ahead of the display.

Tickets are no longer available but the display is visible from Greenwich Park, Hampstead Heath, Vauxhall Bridge and Lambeth Bridge.

The display is also shown on BBC One from 2335 GMT.

People are being advised not to take to the capital's bridges to watch the fireworks for their own safety.

Fences have also been erected around fountains at Trafalgar Square ahead of Tuesday's New Year's Day parade.
