U.S. oil inventories remain unchanged last week: EIA

HOUSTON, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- U.S. crude oil inventories remained virtually unchanged in the week ending Dec. 28, 2018, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in a report on Friday.

U.S. commercial crude oil inventories, excluding those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, stayed almost level from the previous week. At 441.4 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories were about 8 percent above the five-year average for this time of year.

In the previous week ending Dec. 21, EIA reported that U.S. crude oil inventories remained virtually unchanged.

Total motor gasoline inventories increased by 6.9 million barrels last week and were about 5 percent above the five-year average for this time of year.

Finished gasoline and blending components inventories both increased last week. Distillate fuel inventories increased by 9.5 million barrels last week and were about 7 percent below the five-year average for this time of year.
