U.S. crude oil imports decrease last week: EIA

HOUSTON, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- U.S. crude oil imports decreased last week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Friday.

According to the Weekly Petroleum Status Report, U.S. crude oil imports averaged 7.4 million barrels per day last week, down 264,000 barrels per day from the previous week.

Over the past four weeks, U.S. crude oil imports averaged about 7.5 million barrels per day, 4.1 percent less than the same four-week period last year.

U.S. total products imports last week averaged 1.6 million barrels per day, down 226,000 barrels per day from the previous week.

Over the past four weeks, U.S. total products imports averaged about 1.8 million barrels per day, 22 percent less than the same four-week period last year.

Meanwhile, U.S. crude oil exports averaged 2.2 million barrels per day last week, down 732,000 barrels per day from the previous week.

Over the past four weeks, U.S. crude oil exports averaged about 2.5 million barrels per day, more than double the levels for the same four-week period last year.

U.S. total products exports last week averaged 5.4 million barrels per day, down 508,000 barrels per day from the previous week.

Over the past four weeks, U.S. total products exports averaged about 5.6 million barrels per day, about 9 percent more than the same four-week period last year.
