SHARAN, Afghanistan -- At least 10 civilians were killed and 13 others wounded after a bomb ripped through a district bazaar in eastern Afghan province of Paktika on Monday, a local official said.
"Ten martyred and 13 wounded civilians were admitted to a main hospital in the provincial capital Sharan city Monday morning following a bomb attack in Jani Khil district," Dr. Mohammad Raffah, a provincial health official, told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Bomb Attack)

QALA-E-NAW, Afghanistan -- At least 21 Afghan soldiers and police personnel and 15 Taliban militants have been killed in clashes in western province of Badghis as fighting rages in the country, a local official said on Monday.
In one incident, three army soldiers, 11 Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel and 15 militants were killed after Afghan security forces fought back scores of armed militants who stormed security checkpoints in Qarjaghai locality of Qadis district Sunday night, Abdul Aziz Baig, an official of Provincial Council, told Xinhua. NEW DELHI -- Five members of a dance troupe were killed and one critically injured early Monday when a vehicle carrying them rammed into a stationary truck amid dense fog in eastern Indian state of Odisha, police said.
The accident took place near Aaanlabanka Chowk in Kendrapara district, about 115 km northeast of Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha. (India-Road Accident)

SEOUL -- Civic groups of South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) agreed to hold a joint New Year event in the DPRK's scenic resort of Mount Kumgang later this month, local media reported Monday.
