LONDON, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.39 percent, or 26.54 points, to close at 6,810.88 points.
Smurfit Kappa Group, a leading corrugated packaging company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.20 percent. Imperial Brands, a British multinational tobacco company, dropped 4.99 percent. Centrica, a British multinational energy and services company, fell 4.41 percent.
NMC Health, a private healthcare services provider, soared 7.33 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Fresnillo and Antofagasta increased by 4.66 percent and 3.03 percent respectively. Enditem
