SINGAPORE, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.65 percent or 20.14 points to close at 3,122.94.
A total of 1.29 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 880.45 million Singapore dollars (about 648.25 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 207 to 170.
The STI index went up 1.42 percent or 43.57 points to close at 3,102.8 on Monday.
