ACCRA, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Ghana's Asante Kotoko left here Friday for Cameroon to face Coton Sport in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confederation cup in Yaounde on Sunday.

The 30-man contingent, comprising 18 players, seven technical officials, four management members and a photographer, made the trip to Cameroon for the first leg tie of the final elimination round in the competition.

Asante Kotoko, nicknamed 'Porcupine Warriors', who are Ghana's flagbearers in this year's CAF inter-club competitions, are hoping to seal qualification to the group stage for the first time since 2008.

The Reds will host the return leg in Kumasi, Ghana's second largest commercial city, on Jan. 20.

The winners will qualify to the next stage and will join 15 other teams for the group stages of the 2018/2019 confederation cup group. Enditem
