Cuba reiterates interest in boosting ties with EU

HAVANA, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Tuesday again that his country is keen to further strengthen ties with the European Union (EU).

"We build spaces for the dialogue and cooperation; we put our points in common over our differences, aiming to develop long and stable relations," the minister tweeted.

He said the relations between Havana and the EU have developed favorably on the basis of mutual respect.

In 2016, Cuba and the EU signed an agreement of political dialogue and cooperation. Now the EU is the one of the largest foreign investors in Cuba, mainly in its sectors of tourism and construction.
