SINGAPORE, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.31 percent, or 9.90 points, to close at 3,224.34.
A total of 2.05 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 906.87 million Singapore dollars (about 668.29 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 241 to 137.
The STI index went down 0.45 percent, or 14.67 points, to close at 3,214.44 Thursday.
