MADRID, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Copa del Rey holders FC Barcelona will face Sevilla in the quarterfinals of the competition as they look to be crowned for a historic consecutive fifth time.

Liga Santander leaders Barca went into the draw after surviving an appeal from Levante who were knocked out by Barca in the round of 16.

Levante claimed they should have progressed to the last 8 because Barca B-team defender Juan Brandariz 'Chumi' played in the first leg when he was illegible through suspension, but the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Friday rejected the appeal finding Chumi was suspended for the league and not the Cup.

Other ties saw Real Madrid drawn against Girona, who knocked Atletico Madrid out of the tournament, while Getafe take on Valencia, and Espanyol will play Betis.

Betis booked their place in the last 8 on Thursday after a 2-2 draw away to Real Sociedad saw them through on away goals.

The ties will be held over the coming fortnight on a home and away basis.
