LA PAZ, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- A bus carrying a sports delegation crashed into a ravine in southern Bolivia on Sunday, causing at least 11 deaths, a local official said.
The bus left Tarija city for Villa Charcas to attend a football championship, said Roberto Siles, head of the Tarija police department's firefighting unit.
More than 20 others were injured after the bus veered off the road. Some of the injured have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Several passengers said there were signs of brakes failure.
On Saturday, two public transit buses collided head-on on a highway in southwestern Bolivia, killing 22 people and injuring 30 others.
