CAIRO, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Naval units from Egypt and Bahrain arrived on Monday to conduct three-day joint naval drills in the Gulf, the armed forces said in a statement on its website.
"The joint military exercises aim to further consolidate strong relations between the two countries and people," the statement said.
Dubbed Hamad-3, the joint drills took place at the Issa Air Base on the shore of the southern Gulf which "will enhance military cooperation between the armed forces of the two Arab countries," it added.
Egypt regularly holds military exercises with Arab, African and western states to boost military collaboration and exchange military expertise.
