AMMAN, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan on Tuesday approved a limited cabinet reshuffle in the government of Prime Minister Omar Razzaz.
According to a Royal Decree issued Tuesday, Majd Swheikeh was appointed as minister of tourism and antiquities, Walid Masri as minister of municipal affairs, and Walid Maani as minister of higher education and scientific research.
Anmar Khasawneh was appointed as minister of transport.
All new ministers were sworn in on Tuesday before the king.
This is the second cabinet reshuffle in the government of Prime Minister Omar Razzaz as the previous one took place in October last year.
In early June 2018, Jordanian King Abdullah II appointed Razzaz, a former education minister, as new prime minister after the resignation of Hani Mulki following nationwide protests, according to a Royal Court statement.
Razzaz was appointed following nationwide protests over the income tax law, which is part of several fiscal reforms as part of a 700-million-U.S.-dollar extended fund for facility programs provided by the International Monetary Fund in 2016.
