XI'AN, China, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Chang'an Athletic Football Club announced its head coach Xie Yuxin's departure on Wednesday.

"After a friendly negotiation, Mr. Xie Yuxin will not be our team's head coach any more since today on," the Chang'an Athletic FC said in a post on Sina Weibo, China's Twitter-like social network.

Xie was a Chinese football international. The 50-year-old took over the position as the head coach of the Chang'an Athletic FC in July, 2018.

Under his lead, the only professional football team in Shaanxi province took the third place in 2018 China's third division league. It was the best result for the Chang'an Athletic FC since it established in the year 2016.

But in the promotion playoffs, Chang'an Athletic lost to Guangdong China South Tigers 3-2 in two-leg series. The two-year-old club failed to enter to China's second division league 2019.

According to the Overall Plan of Shaanxi football Reform and Development unveiled in 2015, the province vowed to try its best to have a local Chinese Super League side in 2020.

"We will announce our new head coach in the near future," the Chang'an Athletic FC added in its announcement.
