MOSCOW, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Russian city of Perm, administrative center of the Perm region in the Ural Mountains, canceled all lessons on Tuesday due to bomb threats, the regional Territorial Security Ministry said.
"Afternoon classes in all schools in Perm will be canceled due to anonymous e-mailed threats. Kindergartens will work as usual," it said in a statement.
Perm, a city with a population of around 1 million, has 134 schools, according to the city directory.
Earlier this month, Russian media reported evacuations in 12 Russian regions following anonymous calls and messages regarding bomb threats, none of which proved to be true.
In 2017, millions of people were evacuated from public places throughout Russia, following similar anonymous telephone calls from abroad, which later turned out to be hoaxes.
