MOGADISHU, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- A manager of United Arab Emirates-based DP World company was shot dead in Bosaso port, in Somalia's northern region of Puntland, police said on Monday.

Police officer Ahmed Jama in Bisaso told Xinhua that a gunman disguised as a local fisherman opened fire on Paul Anthony near his office at the port.

"I can confirm to you that Anthony is dead and we have arrested the gunman. We will give full details after the investigation," the officer said.

Independent sources told Xinhua that two gunmen were involved in the assassination, one was killed, and the second was arrested by police.

The sources said that the killer in police custody also sustained injures during the shooting.

Workers at the port told Xinhua that the shooting caused panic among them but the situation is now back to normal.

Al-Qaida-affiliated terrorist group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the killing.

There was no immediate comment from officials in Puntland.
