EU executive prohibits merger between Siemens, Alstom

BRUSSELS, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The European Commission said on Wednesday that it has prohibited Siemens' proposed acquisition of Alstom because the merger would harm competition in markets for railway signalling systems and very high-speed trains.
