NAIROBI, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Kenya will host the second Good Deeds Day Africa Regional Conference from Aug.6 to 9 in Nairobi, organizers announced on Friday.

Kaynan Rabino, CEO of Good Deeds Day, said that the conference will attract delegates from over 40 countries in Africa who will gather in Nairobi to discuss how to harness the growth of volunteerism within the continent.

"The conference will bring together non-profit and civic leaders from over 40 countries around the world to gain and share the knowledge, resources and connections needed to generate a greater positive impact on our communities and the world," Rabino said during the occasion to crown the governor of Nairobi Mike Mbuvi Sonko as the Good Deeds Day goodwill ambassador in Kenya.

Rabino said that the leaders will discuss key topics and strategies in volunteering such as partnering with government institutions, corporate sectors and other fellow non-government organizations on how to use the Good Deeds Day as a tool to maximize missions and efforts.

The Good Deeds Day, an international day of volunteers, is marked on April 7 since its launch in Israel in 2007 to unite people from around the world in doing good deeds for others and the planet.
