TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Iran has arrested seven people linked to the Islamic State (IS) group, Iran's Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi announced on Sunday.

"Seven people related to the Daesh (IS) terrorist group, who had plots (for sabotage acts), were identified and arrested on Friday night," Alavi was quoted as saying by official IRNA news agency.

"A number of other people linked to other (terror) teams have also been arrested," he said, adding that Iranian Intelligence Ministry is closely monitoring the "enemies' movements" inside the country.

Iran has beefed up security measures amid the ongoing celebrations for the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
