JAKARTA, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Taipei will meet the Indonesian national football team in a tryout match later this year, the Indonesian football association said here on Wednesday.
The away friendly is scheduled to be held in June and will act as part of the Indonesian squad's preparation for the qualification round of the Asian Cup 2023, secretary of the association Ratu Tisha said.
In addition to the Chinese Taipei match, the secretary said that the Indonesian squad will also have an away friendly match against Myanmar on March 25.
She said she hopes Indonesian team could win both matches to raise their position in the FIFA rankings.
Currently Indonesia sits at 159th in the world, below Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.
