Dollar stays in mid 110 yen amid firm Asian stocks, concerns over U.S. economy

TOKYO, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stayed in the mid-110 yen zone in Tokyo on Monday as market players' concerns over a possible slowdown in the U.S. economy offset rising buying of Asian shares.

At 5:00 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 110.54-56 yen compared with 110.42-52 yen in New York and 110.31-33 yen in Tokyo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. It moved between 110.46 yen and 110.59 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.1306-1308 dollars and 124.98-125.02 yen against 1.1288-1298 dollars and 124.67-77 yen in New York and 1.1279-1280 dollars and 124.42-46 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.
