Hello, March! It's getting warmer in China, which means spring is upon us! We have selected six of the best destinations around the country for you to visit this season.

1. Wuyuan

Boasting the most beautiful villages in China, Wuyuan County in east China's Jiangxi Province has many delicate ancient buildings. Surrounded by rivers and hills, villages blend perfectly into the natural scenery. And in March, countless bright yellow rapeseed flowers carpet the hills, a scene you don't want to miss!

2. Guilin

The karst peaks of Guilin in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are an altar at which artists have worshiped for centuries. Hundreds of rivers and tributaries that weave through the region have carved spectacular limestone mounds that jut impossibly from flat flood plains. Although it drizzles a lot in the city in March, making traveling a little less pleasant, the rivers and peaks enshrouded by mist are the highlight of the Guilin scenery, which is iconic to China.

3. Nyingchi

Peach forests begin to bloom in March in Nyingchi, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The lush pinkness of peach flowers in the valley and the white snow-capped mountains form a unique scenery at the Third Pole of the world.

4. Ili

As snow starts to melt, the vast shades of apricot blossom in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, change the palette of the valley into a fresh light pink. The 2,000 hectares of primitive forest here date back more than 1,000 years.

5. Xiapu

Xiapu County in east China's Fujian Province is not a popular destination for tourists, but is definitely a favorite spot for photographers. In March, fishermen are usually seen starting their spring harvest on the country's largest mudflat. The hardworking people of Xiapu are a photographer's ideal subject as they labor against the beautiful backdrop of coastlines and stunning skies.

Erhai Lake (Xinhua/Hu Chao)

6. Dali

As one Chinese song goes, "Dali in March has good scenery." Indeed, Dali, in southwest China's Yunnan Province, is most beautiful in spring, when tourists can better appreciate its "four unique scenes" -- The wind from Xiaguan's mountain valley, the flowers on the Shangguan grassland, the snow on Mt. Cangshan and the moon above Erhai Lake.
