OTTAWA, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Latvian skeleton legend Martins Dukurs clinched his sixth IBSF World Championships gold medal with a stunning performance in Whistler on Friday.

It was a masterclass from Dukurs who won all four runs on his way to gold in Canada setting a new track record on his second run.

So dominant was the 34-year-old that he finished with a mammoth 0.51 seconds over eventual runner-up, Russia's Nikita Tregubov, who was the PyeongChang Olympics silver medalist.

South Korea's reigning Olympic champion Yun Sung-bin could only muster a third-place finish coming home 0.88 seconds back.

Martins' older bother, Tomass finished in fifth while this year's World Cup winner Alexander Tretyakov was down in sixth.

China's Geng Wenqiang finished in 17th place from halfway's 12th, 3.26 seconds behind the leader.
