MOSCOW, March 13 (Xinhua) -- A man plotting a terror attack has been neutralized in Russia's Samara region, a Russian government agency said on Wednesday.
The Russian Federal Security Service was notified Tuesday night that a terror suspect was hiding in one of the houses near Ekaterinovka village in the Samara region, according to a statement by the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee.
During the operation, the man opened fire on law enforcement officers and lobbed a hand grenade. He was killed shortly after, said the statement.
The search in the hiding place of the man revealed weapons, ammunition and an improvised explosive device, the statement added.
