PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, March 14 (Xinhua) -- A total of five militants including a group commander were killed as a clash erupted in Dahna-e-Ghori district of the northern Baghlan province on Wednesday, army spokesman in the northern region Mohammad Hanif Rezai said Thursday.

The clash, according to the official, erupted in Chashma-e-Shir area of the restive district Wednesday afternoon after the militants wanted to disrupt traffic on a road linking the provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri to Samangan province.

Three more militants sustained injuries in the fighting lasted for a while, the official said.

No security personnel had been hurt in the fighting, Rezai contended.
