Abu Dhabi's crown prince, Afghan president sign cooperation deals

DUBAI, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani witnessed on Sunday a signing ceremony of cultural, educational, sports, mining, energy and agricultural agreements.

The signing ceremony came during a visit by the Afghan president to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that started earlier in the day.

The two sides also discussed beefing up ties to achieve mutual interest.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, who is also Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said development of the various services provided to the Afghan people will help them overcome the challenges of peace, stability and development.

For his part, the Afghan president said he was pleased to visit the UAE, praising the efforts exerted by the UAE leadership to maintain peace and stabilities in Afghanistan in particular and the Middle East in general.
