SINGAPORE, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.25 percent, or 7.96 points, to close at 3,220.92.
A total of 789.53 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.01 billion Singapore dollars (about 0.75 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered Losers by 192 to 170.
The STI index went up 0.4 percent, or 12.78 points, to close at 3,212.96 Monday.
