Chinese shares close lower at midday Friday

BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.77 percent at 3,077.56 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index fell 1.24 percent to end at 9,747.21 points at midday.
