Shanghai crude oil futures close higher

SHANGHAI, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Crude oil futures closed higher on Friday at the Shanghai International Energy Exchange (INE).

The most active crude oil contract for May delivery was 1.5 yuan (22 U.S. cents) up to close at 460.9 yuan a barrel.

On Friday, the total trading volume for 10 listed crude oil futures contracts on the exchange was 261,114 lots, with a turnover of 120.4 billion yuan.

China launched the crude oil futures trading on March 26 last year. It was the first futures variety on the Chinese mainland open to overseas investment.
