BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng on Friday called on officials to tackle key issues to win the battle against pollution.

Han, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks at a symposium held during his inspection at the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

The country should establish and improve the scientific mechanism for finding problems while focusing on the major ones, Han said.

Efforts should be made to efficiently implement the action plans on air, water and soil pollution control, he added.

The country should continue to push air pollution control in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas while rectifying the ecological and environmental problems in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, he said.
