German shares lose 1.61 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, March 22 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 185.79 points, or 1.61 percent, to close at 11,364.17 points.

European health care company Fresenius SE lost the most among the blue chips, down by 4.23 percent, followed by industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer, which lost 3.52 percent and 3.23 percent respectively.

Energy group RWE, marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas were the top three winners, rising 3.04 percent, 0.72 percent and 0.67 percent respectively.

Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 335.6 million euros (379.2 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
