Nathan Chen edges Yuzuru Hanyu to win men's title at Saitama Worlds

SAITAMA, Japan, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Defending champion Nathan Chen of the United States won the men's singles gold medal again at the Figure Skating World Championships in Saitama, Japan, here on Saturday.

Chen, who led the short program on Thursday, delivered a strong free skate which scored his season best 216.02 points, and combined 323.42 points to win the gold medal. Japanese star Yuzuru Hanyu took second in an overall 300.97, 206.10 in free skate.

Vincent Zhou of the United States came third in 281.16. Japan's Shoma Uno trailed in 270.32.

China's Jin Boyang ranked fifth in 262.71.
