BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese double Olympic champion Ye Shiwen has conquered the fear inside her to reach an "ideal" state, her coach Xu Guoyi said.

The 23-year-old won both the 200m individual medley and 200m breaststroke at the Qingdao National Championships and her results are enough for her to get the tickets to 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

"She returned with a mature vision and active mentality, which is completely different from what it used to be," said Xu Guoyi.

In Xu's eyes, Ye has already entered an ideal state, "She is willing to accept the hardships and fatigue of training, and ready to confront the challenges and pressures of competition. This is what we call an ideal state for an athlete."

"No matter how it turns out, she will have no regret because she has done her utmost. As a coach, I will do my best to help her," said Xu.

Ye achieved the enormous success at the 2012 London Olympics, where she claimed two gold medals in the 200m and 400m medley as a 16-year-old.

Since then Ye has been struggling with weight problem and she did not win any medals from the 2016 Olympic Games as well as other big events. She became afraid of racing and training was a torture for her. She stopped training and studied Tsinghua University for about two years. And now she is back confident and relaxed.

Ye bounced back to the stadium at the end of 2018, participating successively at the Short-Course World Cup in Beijing and the Short-Course World Championships in Hangzhou.
