WARSAW, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Poland's ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) may hold a government reshuffle before the European Parliament elections in May, PiS spokesperson said on Tuesday.

"I do not know the timing, so I cannot say when, but I have information that the cabinet reshuffle will take place before the elections for the European Parliament," Beata Mazurek, the PiS spokesperson said at a press conference.

Mazurek said that the reshuffle was connected to the European Parliament elections.

In February, PiS announced that some of its ministers and vice ministers would be running for seats in the European Parliament, including Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydlo, Joachim Brudzinski, Minister of the Interior and Administration, and Anna Zalewska, Minister of National Education.

Mazurek said the purpose of the reshuffle was to "possibly efficiently transfer governing functions to successors".
