BEIJING, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Here is a list of things you can do in China today to enjoy the country's rich cultural life in terms of shows, concerts, exhibitions and events.

-- Listen to "Jonathan Nott" performed by the visiting Orchestre de la Suisse Romande at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing at 7:30 p.m.

Founded in 1918, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande has built an international reputation thanks to its historic recordings and its interpretation of the 20th century French and Russian repertories. The conductor, Jonathan Nott, is well known for the power, vigor and clarity of his interpretations of Mahler's works.

-- Listen to Zhang Haotian's piano recital at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing at 7:30 p.m.

The 22-year-old Chinese-Canadian pianist is up and rising. He will perform classic pieces by Beethoven, Debussy, Chopin among others in the 2-hour recital.

-- Watch Broadway musical "School of Rock" at the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center in Beijing at 7:30 p.m.

Based on the hit movie of the same title, this musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a supply teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight A students into a rock band.

-- Catch the last glimpse of the "Celebrating the Spring Festival in the Forbidden City" exhibition at the Palace Museum. The exhibition, part of celebrations for the Spring Festival -- the most important traditional Chinese holiday, will end on April 7 after a four-month show.
