TAIYUAN, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Three companies from China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have established a joint venture in north China's Shanxi Province to produce de-dusting equipment.

With a total investment of 20 million yuan (2.97 million U.S. dollars), the joint venture is funded by J-E Tech Co. Ltd. from the ROK and Chinese companies Yangquan Coal Industry Group Co. Ltd. and Beijing CECN Mediator Kane Environmental Protection Technology Co. Ltd.

The joint venture will focus on manufacturing industrial dust collectors, drawing on the technological expertise from the ROK company, according to Zhai Hong, president of Yangquan.

Yangquan will also cooperate with J-E Tech in areas like emission equipment upgrade and treatment of sewage and exhaust from diesel heavy-duty trucks, according to Zhai.

Shanxi is a major energy base and its traditional mining, coking, steel, and coal chemical industries have caused severe pollution. Local authorities have taken tough measures to reduce emissions and improve air quality.
