China's island simplifies procedure for foreign yachts

HAIKOU, April 12 (Xinhua) -- China's Hainan Province said Friday that it has launched a pilot program to simplify procedure for overseas yachts to enter some of its waters.

The program is carried out by the provincial government and the provincial maritime safety administration, simplifying the approval procedure for the entry of overseas yachts to some of its waters.

The authorities said that before the implementation of the new policy, overseas yachts would have to get approval from the Ministry of Transportation of China. The new policy has streamlined the approval process and simplified procedures.
