BEIJING, April 12 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the State Council has called for more efforts to boost transparency of government services.
Xiao Jie, state councilor and secretary-general of the State Council, made the remarks during a research tour from Wednesday to Thursday in eastern China's Anhui Province.
Authorities were asked to strengthen the disclosure of information in improving the business environment, major construction projects, and key areas affecting people's wellbeing.
He stressed the construction of a national online platform of government service and called for efforts to better utilize government websites and new media to provide more convenience to the public and enterprises.
