DAMASCUS -- At least 35 government forces have been killed over the past 48 hours as a result of intense Islamic State (IS) attack in eastern Syria, a war monitor reported on Saturday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the IS militants have launched intense attacks on Syrian government's forces in the desert region in eastern Syria since April 14. (Syria-IS-Death)

ASTANA -- A bus accident in Kazakhstan has killed 11 people and injured 29 others, the Kazakh Interior Ministry said Saturday.
The accident took place on the early morning of Saturday in the Kordai district in the southern Zhambyl region when a car collided with a truck on a highway and a following passenger bus made a rollover in order to avoid a collision with the vehicles, according to the ministry. MANILA -- A truck carrying more than 20 passengers on their way to a traditional event plunged into a ravine in the mountainous northern Philippine Kalinga province on Saturday, killing at least seven people and injuring 15 others.
The police said the crash happened at 10:00 a.m. local time when an Isuzu Elf truck stalled on a steep slope, rolled backwards, and fell into a five-meter-deep ravine in a village called Malin-awa in Tabuk City in Kalinga province. (Philippines-Car-Crush)

KABUL -- Eleven people were killed and eight civilians wounded after assailants armed with gun, grenades and suicide bomb jackets stormed an 18-story government office building in the central of Afghanistan's capital of Kabul on Saturday.
