SINGAPORE, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.3 percent, or 10.12 points, to close at 3,357.70.
A total of 702.36 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 578.85 million Singapore dollars (about 426.66 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 184 to 174.
The STI index went down 0.03 percent, or 1.06 points, to close at 3,347.58 last Thursday. There was no trading last Friday as it was a public holiday.
