BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- China's central government has opened an online platform to collect reports of government misconduct and suggestions from the public to improve government work.

The platform, launched by the General Office of the State Council, was meant to ensure the implementation of the major decisions and policies of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council and respond to public concerns in an effective way, said a statement by the office.

It said the move was a government measure using public supervision to carry out inspection and check work.

The platform invites the public to give evidence on problems such as failure in properly implementing the major decisions and policies, governmental agency inefficiency and misconduct, and imperfections in government policies causing difficulties for companies and the public, the statement said.

It also welcomes suggestions on improving government work.

Enterprises and members of the public can visit the Chinese government website or use the central government mobile application or WeChat public account to submit opinions.

The State Council general office inspection agency may send inspectors directly to check problems that prompt strong complaints.

The statement also promised transparency, and serious punishment to any violations.
