MADRID, April 22 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde was keeping his usual calm as he addressed the press ahead of his side's Liga Santander game away to Alaves on Tuesday night.

A win for Barca in the city of Vitoria would take them to within just three points of this season's title, and could even see them crowned champions on Wednesday if second place Atletico Madrid lose to Valencia.

"Anyone wants to assure the title as soon as possible and we want to win, so let's see if we can do so," said Valverde, who nevertheless warned that with three league games in a week, "It's possible there will be some changes" to his usual starting 11.

Barca will face Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal next week and assuring the title before then will give the coach the chance to rest players for what looks certain to be two very tough games, although Valverde said he's rather take things one game at a time.

"The most important thing is to win the league: people can get carried away here... Sometimes people think it's easy, but it will be difficult," he assured.

Barca have a nine point lead at the top of the table and as well as the Champions League semifinals, they will face Valencia in the final of the Copa del Rey at the end of May, but the coach insisted on taking nothing for granted.

"You always hope things will go well and not badly: we could win three titles this year, or we could still not win any, but we are in the final stage of the season and everything is decisive now," commented Valverde.

The coach insisted that the league had been very closely fought this season, despite his side's advantage at the top of the table.

"It's a great achievement when the outcome of the title seems predicable," he said, adding that he saw his side in "good" condition.

"It's normal for you to feel the games you play at this stage of the season, but you are inspired by the challenge and when you have something to aim for, you don't feel tired," concluded Valverde.
